What does the Ctrl-s prompt do?
« on: September 23, 2014, 10:52:45 am »

I had noticed this a few times after accidently pressing the key combination, works on both 34.11 and 40.XX, with or without DFhack. Just press Ctrl-s at anytime during the game and a text box pops up in the middle of the screen. I have only tested it in the main menu and in fortress mode, works in both. It should work in all other places too. I have only tested typing a few things into it and none have done anything. Is this something new or am I missing something obvious?

I would guess that it is some sort of debug console, which could be quite useful and fun.

I have no idea either. I'm guessing some sort of control panel thing which Toady One uses for dev work and left it available for some reason.

Oh, thank you. I knew it had to be something like that.

That is the droid you are looking for.

(that is the saving macro bar which you type into to save your macro)

Yes, CTRL-R to record a macro, CTRL-S to save it, CTRL-L to load it and CTRL-P to use it... i simply love them, they're such a time saver!
