Note tje guy next to a STONE WALL, that is taller then he is,LYING PRONE.

He's looking at the direction along the wall. The wall does not provide cover along this direction.

Also I don't recognize the symbol on his shoulder.

Its the faded, not-so-fucking-ovious version that is put on all combat uniforms, including those of pilots.

The 'stars' field is put on facing towards the front when it's army and such (forget the technical term) and backwards when it's 'homeland' units... I think.

It's low-visibility. They're designed to act as an identifier without potentially being a brightly colored spot on an otherwise camouflaged target and giving the soldier away. They're commonly used on aircraft, too. The Germans used a version of the Balkenkreuz without the black core so it was harder to see, for example.

Hi derail topic.
Someone mentioned R6... let me expound. Rainbow 6: Raven Shield is a very good special forces simulator. Ultra unforgiving and focused exclusively on infantry the game great, even if it is something like 15 years.

Don't get confused with the newer Rainbow 6's. There is no hide around the corner and regen health. You can plan your assault for hours, clear the entire map, and lose because a hostage dies.
