Working on MDF 6.1 linux version
« on: September 15, 2014, 03:52:31 pm »

I've been off in RL for a bit, and am now working on a linux version of MDF 6.1.

Good news and bad news, though - good news is I may have fixed the linux TTF error (well, I just commented out the bad assertion, and it hasn't crashed yet ... so that's at least a non-empty definition of "fixed" ;)  ).

The bad news is that for some reason I cannot make dfhack work, it seg faults.  I'm sure I'm missing a big step somewhere.  Both the newest git version (which is labeled 40.11, has only 40.11 version in hack/symbols.xml which I had to change the md5 hash, does it no longer work on DF 34.11?) and the previous precompiled dfhack-0.34.11-r5 versions fail.  I'm crying, because I also have twbt compiled for linux (it would never load in MDF V5.x for me).

I could go back to -r3, but I suspect that won't work with the scripts ....

Thoughts?

As far as I know, you would need r4 (pretty hard to find), because that's the version used in v6.1.

Both r3 and r5 should have scripts not working.

I have no experience in unix DF at all, so I can't help you past that point.

It is ok, I'm used to that in RL so why should my game be different :p
