Aren't these things getting sophisticated enough to like, install windows on them and connect to the internet and download DF or something?  Maybe you have to install some kind of sensor into your brain and then it will read your thoughts and do it.

Hahaha.  Hey, "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon" is a roguelike (from what i've heard), so it's not impossible, especially if in the future a company bought DF and ported it to a console.

It's more likely it would go to a PDA device first.  Versions of Rogue, Larn, and Moria have already been there.

Maybe a Pocket PC could already do it???

Well, Linux exists on damn near every console and portable, to some degree or another. If you find that Linux on the DS can get Wine to work, you might be able to do it.

(I imagine that you are going to need to dedicate the touchpad screen to a virtual keyboard, though. DF isn't a game you can play with just a few buttons.)

I can see the mini-game now - scrub the screen to stop the stampede!

The Nintendo DS has like a 66mhz ARM and a 33mhz ARM. It'd have to be a specially coded version of Dwarf fortress, designed with the DS dev kit. It would never run on Wine in a Linux environment even if they ported Linux and Wine to the DS.

BTW I got several 2Gb storage cards for it so I can even have a world or two on each :P
