Most efficient way to produce bronze? v.4
« on: August 30, 2014, 01:17:31 pm »

Hey folks. I can't find any iron on my map, but have the ores for bronze. I noticed you have the choice to make this alloy from either bars or ores.

Is it more efficient to smelt bronze directly from the component ores? how much does each job produce?

I noticed that usually smelting an ore gives 4 bars of the resulting metal. Does smelting a bar of tin and copper together produce 4 bronze, or one?

A bar of tin and a bar of copper produce 2 bars of bronze.

Smelting cassiterite ore and one of the copper ores produces 8 bars of bronze.

Basically smelting the ore saves time and fuel.  But you'll lose the silver from tetrahedrite if that is your copper ore.
