Can I used the armor that I have imported?  I have a set of steel chain +accessories sitting in the trade depot that hasn't moved since traded for.  My weapon/armor stockpile is set up for all but unusable items.  This is making me believe that they can't be used.  

Maybe it's something I'm doing too, don't ever stop learning with this game.

I read on the Penny Arcade forum somewhere that steel chainmail that you traded for was bugged. You can't use it, and removing the tradepost will just cause it to disappear. For all I know this applies to all armor, I haven't had a chance to test it out yet...

I couldn't find anything about it on this forum however, so you might want to report it.

heh, the bug is that the stuff the traders are wearing shows up on the trade screen. So you buy it, but the axedwarves are still wearing it and carry it off the map.

not sure why it does not just say it was stolen or whatever.

I've seen stuff sitting in the trade depot though... just a bug

Yeah, i've got a couple iron shields stuck at the trade depot. On the plus side, Weapons function correctly. (Tough to make weapons out of bone and leather)
