I've been really annoyed by the greed and impatience of caravan traders, for example me giving them 700 macaroons of profit, and them leaving in disgust. Could I modify the raws so their patience is infinite or they don't leave when you give them a few bad offers, and refuse them instead?

I don't know anything about modding, (this is the wrong section for that anyway) but AFAIK, they'll give you better deals if your broker is better at swindling them. Assign someone who's good at negotiating, persuading, appraising, and lying and your you should have better luck.

I can't help you with modding it, but I can tell you how do I handle them. Their reaction is easy to predict, as they care about profit margin. They do not complain if you give them a certain percentage of profit, 50% (e.g. I pay 1500 for items worth 1000) works well for me, and they're always very happy about the deal.

It's not a money wasted, because by giving them good deals you additionally encourage them, so they're more likely to bring more wagons and more stuff to sell. Money shouldn't be a problem at all. Trap components are ridiculously expensive, but my top exports are... worn clothes.

traders care about relative profit not absolute profit in each deal, as said before, if you give them around 50% profit they tend to be very happy. I usually churn out tons of rock craft which gives me enough currency to buy whatever I want. If you decorate them with cut gems they become even more valuable. If you happen to have gold or platinum in large quantities, a handful of gold crafts will buy out any trader.
