Way to remove the "militia commander" tag?
« on: July 31, 2014, 08:34:28 am »

On several embarks, I have had to form an emergency militia and draft all the dwarves to kill a troglodyte/troll/wutbeast.  Afterwards, even if I disband the squad, the dwarf which was in position 1 is permanently tagged "militia commander".

Is there any way to remove this designation?

I'm new to succession forts in general, yes, but do all forts designed by multiple overseers inevitably degenerate into a body-filled labyrinth of chaos and despair like this? Or is this just a Battlefailed thing?

There isn't much middle ground between killed-by-dragon and never-seen-by-dragon.

The militia commander is a noble position.

If you don't want that dwarf in there anymore, go to the [n]obles screen, select the militia commander, and [r]eplace him.  On the replace screen, select "leave empty."
