So, recently, I embarked right next to a goblin dark tower. Surprisingly, when I arrived, there were a large number of tents, and an army of dwarves and elves.


They were hiding in their troll fur tents for only a few seconds, before going to slaughter all my starter dwarves. Has anyone else experienced this before?

I've seen stuff like this. It seems you embarked on a stationed army, of what civ I can't say. Because all the civs intermingle so easily now, a human empire often has a healthy population of other races.

Because of the current "special" state of things involving factions and hostility, it's hard to say exactly why they insta-aggored. Is your civ at war with humans or elves? Otherwise, it could be a bug.
