Two part question - Demons and Sauropods
« on: July 23, 2014, 02:01:24 am »

I've got Sauropod Fiends.

Question one: Sauropods are essentially Bronotsaurus, right?

Question two: Will Demons retain the size of the base creature? Essentially, are these things the size of brontosauruses (brontosauri?)

They don't retain the creature's original size.

From the wiki:

"They are very large (size 10000000, smaller than a megabeast, but significantly larger than a giant and 167 times the size of a dwarf)."

More properly called Apatosaurus now, but yes.

Reading his name would trigger it. Thinking of him would trigger it. No other circumstances would trigger it- it was strictly related to the concept of Bill Clinton entering the conscious mind.

I don't care. I have discovered that if you spawn elves this way, cats will chase them down and eat them.

Yet they still fit on one tile, and can walk thorough tiny dwarven hallways.

That's the kind of things that leaves you wondering about the wagons... Bigger than a dinosaur, yet moved by two horses, huh?

The wagons work like alleged UFOs, that is they use antigravity engine to float, and the buffaloes, horses or yaks are there just for horizontal movement. They need two animals for quicker steering, though one would probably suffice. At least that's my hypothesis.

Blegh. The brontosaurus wasn't ever even a creature. He found an adult apatosaur, decided it was its own creature, and put a brachiosaur/camarosaur head on it because it was the biggest. He found the biggest head bits he could find and stitched them together to form a composite head. Nevermind that brachiosaurs/camarosaurs are macronarians and are barely even the same shape as apatosaurs, which are diplodocids. (diplodocids have four legs all roughly the same length, macronarians are all tilty for eatin' trees.)
So. Don't be upset about that.

I beg to differ! Behold, proof of Brontosaurus in its natural habitat.

Speaking of which, I really hope that if anybody mods in dinosaurs, that they also mod in the brontosaurus as a fanciful creature that only shows up in engravings.
