[Modding] Modding Sites
« on: July 21, 2014, 09:07:02 am »

It would be great if we could declare custom site types in some way, even if it was simply a "template" of how their structures are using the core list (City/Tree City/Fortress) and what material they build them out of. Would go miles towards expanding flavor on custom civilizations. Of course if Toady wanted to spend more time on it, we could get a lot more options.

To clarify, I don't necessarily mean full on customization of each structure design and all of that, I just want the ability to have sandstone cities in the desert, wooden cave cities, stone empires in the forests, etc.

Very cool idea. You could in theory export the currently used structure templates into the raws for editing though, like how the arena does it.

Very good placeholder idea. Placeholder, because IIRC Toady means to eventually let players design sites; very far future development, of course.
