A question about justice system (new player)
« on: July 18, 2014, 05:20:44 am »

So there i was, giving myself a pat on the pack for finally being able to survive a whole year in my fortress (for me this was an amazing achievement) when suddenly my fortress was under attack from a megabeast.

This turned out to be a totally mental 'WereHare' (i think it arrived as a human with a trade caravan).

The initial WereHare attack must of infected some of my dwarfs cos during every full moon thereafter some of my dwarfs would transform and kill everything in site.

So what i was wanting to know about was how come my dwarves were responsible for killing each other and yet there is no mention of any murders in the justice screen!
It's full of vandalism and other minor crimes but not one mention of a murder even though i've lost thirty odd dwarves and one of the perpetrators is in my farm right now planting plumps without a care in the world.

He seems more bothered by the fact that there is only one type of alcohol to drink than he is of killing his own children last night!

I think it's because the game counts your werehare dwarves as separate beings. The justice screen is for crimes committed by members of your fortress, but every full moon the infected dwarfs lose control over their actions, so they're not really counted as citizens for that time.

I wonder if the game has become odd.

He seems more bothered by the fact that there is only one type of alcohol to drink than he is of killing his own children last night!

He is addicted, and keeps going back to the hare of the guard that bit him.

Either make your whole fort Were-hares and lock one dwarf in a room (vampires work well) or segregate the were-hare dwarves.

Failing this there is always MAGMA.

i'd imagine the werehare is a seperate entity, so it doesn't count. your best bet is to seperate out all the infected dwarves with burrows, lock/wall them up and then send them on their way

RUTHLESSLY PURGE THEM
