40.04 OMG Necromancers everywhere

Just generated my first world of .04 using the same set of paramaters as the last 10 or so. I cannot currently find a spot to embark without a necromancer. Anybody else seen similar with this build of DF? Or is it just a freak occurrence?

Had that with 40.02

Just give it a second go adn you should ahve more pleasant results. Unless that was your goal. :P

Since .40.0 necromancer sand the undead are way too dangerous... I might save this world for a future version where combat and training work again.

It seems like generally necromancers are much more successful in 2014? Not met a (live) goblin yet though across 15 or so generated worlds...

Out of curiosity: Are you experiencing an excessive amount of necro towers or is it that you get necromancers get displayed as neighbours even if there shouldn't be any in range? The former seems a common problem currently, while the latter was a weird problem that may or may not still occur in the current version.

Definitely excessive towers. Loads of them. A carpet across most of the map with only a few squares between each.

have you tried lowering the site limit?

I made a new world with fewer of them by just cooking it a few hundred year less. They do seem a little OP at the moment though?
