A question about traders.
« on: July 13, 2014, 02:42:09 am »

I accidentally offended a couple of dwarven traders(they wanted 200 dorfbucks worth of armor I owned for 5-6 pieces of leather!) and they stormed off. On their way out, one noticed the two dead people under the bridge(which they didn't notice on arrival) and he became overwhelmed with terror, and dropped all his goods on the floor, and ran off. Will my mountain home hate me now that I gained about a third of their trade goods? And he dropped some good stuff like a steel anvil, some assorted armor, and tons of gems. What should I do?

This is probably going to work similarly to if you used the "5 finger discount" method.

What happens, is that after the caravan leaves the map, a calculation is performed. If less total value in trade goods leaves the map than what came on, (because either a wagon got spilled, merchants were killed, you 5 fingered stuff, whatever), then fewer goods will be brought next year.  If more than the amount that came in leaves the map, the merchants will bring more stuff next year.

well then, I can't stop this till those bodies decompose then. They are in a river, and I have yet learned how to dam a river(that's one reason they are at the bottom of the river) so they gotta sit there for a while. I am gonna lose so much profit.

Just cover the river over with floor tiles. Then the traders cannot see the floating, decompsing, carp bitten corpses down there.
