What is Games Done Quick?

Games Done Quick is a bi-annual charity gaming marathon. Volunteers play games at incredible speed ("Speedrunning") for entertianment. The event is streamed live online, non-stop, and all donations go directly to the charity. This is the summer event, with a winter event every January ("Awesome Games Done Quick").

wondered why this isnt mentioned anywhere on the forum yet, so thought i throw a quick topic up for this as it just started today.
its their 2nd? 3rd? year doing this speedrun event (usually one in winter one in summer) and they are always fun to watch how fast they can get through all sorts of games.

anyone else watching this or saw some of the previous events? any games you are looking forward to on the schedule?

I'll be watching it off and on. It's always a fun event, especially when it's your childhood games are being butchered.
