Same bug happened with Melanie (however you spell her name), so now getting a battery for my cart is something of a priority if I want coffee more than once a day now. Managed to get a poor quality screencap of the animated coffee hut on it's voyage to oblivion.

Maybe it's parasitic. It never loses its flavor because you eventually die from having your nutrients stolen by it.

Necromancy!

Just wanted to put this here: this game has now gone open-source. This seems to have caused the site to collapse.

However, got this link from the internet archive:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/v2uu2cdonh3swxz/cartlife_opensores.zip

Also the full version is free: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bj25y1b43pb8115/cartlife_1-6.zip

Here you can see that this is legit and I'm not linking ya to some pirate site: https://web.archive.org/web/20140404161234/http://www.richardhofmeier.com/cartlife/editions.html

EDIT: Oh yeah the source is for AGS so I suppose you need Adventure Game Studio.

Tried to run this but couldn't find a working graphics setting.  WinXP, Intel Integrated, 19" widescreen monitor.  Any advice?

Not sure, it runs on that Adventure Game Studio thing which is pretty crappy and awful video but for some reason people like it for making games. Do you get any specific error?

I'm running it on Windows 7 64 bit, nvidia card and works fine on directdraw and directx. I can run it windowed but the mouse bugs all over, so I just left it at full. Did you run the winsetup program?

Settings incompatible with video card, refuses to run.  If winsetup's the program that lets you select settings, then yeah, that's what I've been using.  Didn't try fullscreen, though.  Thanks.

OK, found that it'll accept the default and no other setting.

Rather a lot of interface frustration though.  There a way to abort a sale if you don't have enough change?

I enjoy the game but wish you could save more.  Sometimes it does make you feel like you are at a boring, no end in sight, job.
