Hello,

I am working on a Meph approved FAQ addition to the MDF manual.

Spent massive amounts of time paging through the manual or forums for a small question? Here is your chance to help others avoid the same pain! I am looking for all sorts of questions that you think both first time players and veterans alike would appreciate having in a FAQ section of the manual. Questions from all civs as well as general MDF are welcome.

Is the update safe compatible?
Answer: No.

My workshop/furnace stopped working, but I have all the ingredients.
Answer: Burrows Bug, see known bugs section in the manual.

How do I pick which race to embark with?
Answer: (will be a longer one)

Where are the vanilla pets, dogs, cats, cows, etc?
Answer: Removed. Only humans have those, dwarves have new pets.

Which metal is the best?
Answer: (again, a longer one)

Which armor is the best, how do I outfit my dwarves with the best?
Answer: (yet another rather long one)

Where can I find X ?
Answer: Just add links to each race thread, the wiki, the download, the manuals, the dfdb, whatever.

I remember actually wondering the same thing, wiki actually has a super solid guide on this one, probably worth incorporating into to the full manual considering how useful it is and how often people wonder it
