Alrighty! Next part finally up. Had to take a short break and record me playing some Slender: Eight Pages, as a strange and unusual way to celebrate my birthday.  :D

Part 3 in the Single Axe Challonge, in which we finish up the roof of the main building, start work on the back storage room, get very Jersey, and get hassled by a rattlesnake.

I think I just realized that the "Glumprong" tree is actually a "Glum-Prong" not a "Glump-Rong".  I was making some stuff out of Bloodthorns when it hit me the correct way to parse Glumprong.

Anyways, your dwarves have no reason to fear the haunting fog, for why should one fear an infinite fountain of clarity and purpose?  Don't those pathetic mortals see how worthless the life is that they so feebly cling to?  This cannot stand, they shall either embrace the glory of the fog, or they shall perish.

Toughen Dwarves by dropping stuff on them.  (Nothing too heavy though, and make sure to wear armor.)

YES! You have solved my pronunciation issues. That makes complete sense. No guarantees I'll start saying it right, because pronunciation still ain't my thang... but it's a start! :D

That's... that's... *sniff*... beautiful. I feel obligated, once the fortress is up and running, to create an altar to the great glory that is the fog. All hail the fog!

On a side note, my recording is currently two episodes ahead of me. My record in batches (because who can honestly sit and play DF for only 15 minute segments...) so I should be caught up to myself once I release to more videos. Then, dwarves shall be named, altar shall be considered, and I shall highly consider using bridges to build my less-important roof sections....

Thanks Hetarios! And I'm hoping to see it grow too. And not die. Hopefully not die.

Next one is up! Bit of a delay on that one... birthdays and sickness and spring time, oh my. I've still got quite a fever, but I'll post this one and beat the fever before posting the next one. And thanks for watching guys, I'm glad you're having as much fun watching as I am making them. :)

Alright guys, my next video in the series is out! In this episode, we struggle to get dorfs in a burrow, not one but TWO clouds make an entrance, and the rattlesnake returns to hassle the dorfs... only this time... well...

http://youtu.be/JkOISqTfeRE

Now that this batch is all out, I'm taking requests! If anybody would like to have a dorf named after them, now is the time to claim one. :) Warning: Your dwarf may unexpectedly turn into a zombie, or die via rattlesnake. You have been warned. Thus far I have Wade and Dowly down for two of the dorfs, so there are plenty left to be named.

(Plus, this means I get to figure out how to nickname a dorf. Though I've heard of it, I have yet to follow through with it in practice. NO NO don't help me... this struggle could be an epic one.)

Two things came to mind when watching this:
  • Civilian alert burrows -- you don't have to add every dwarf to the burrow manually.  You can go to the military screen and order all civilians into the burrow in one step.
  • When building armor out of bones, you sometimes need multiple stacks.  If a piece of bone armor needs 2 bones, then it has to use 1 bone from each of 2 different stacks.  (Probably a bug.)

I really enjoyed your videos, looking forward to more stripy goodness.  :) Wouldn't mind being a dorf!

Just something I noticed: You can hold shift when designating stuff to cover more ground quickly, might be useful for the chop-and-gather action.

Well that took a ridiculous amount of time. Sorry 'bout that!

Finally putting out the next chapter of SafeCoal! This time we nickname some dorfs (Henny, Daftskunk, Wade, and Dowly), deal with a rattlesnake, and handle an unexpected surprise.

P.S. - If you'd like a dorf named after your fine self, just lemme know by leaving a comment below.

Sorry again about the delay, guys - life did a thing. Hoping to get back up to speed before the new update for Dwarf Fortress comes out! *geeky squeal*

AUGH. Trepidation for the new release is killing me. I'll keep putting out these videos to abate the need. The cold, desperate need...

Welcome back to Safecoal! Today, we get to see ALL the clouds, meet a migrant with some unexpected skills, and a dwarf (Henny) is taken by a fey mood...
