Ahhh.. .40d

I first learned to play on .40d. I miss the beastmaster noble-- the ONLY semi-useful one, other than the book keeper and the captain of the guard. (all the others were fully expendible, and should probably be disposed of immediately.)

Added fun:  Turn on the economy.  Hilarity ensues as price war pissing matches between lesser nobles over the "value" of plump helmets results in mass starvation of your fortress's population, when they can no longer afford food.

See also: "Paris hilton syndrome" as it relates to children.

Also note: FOOD IS NOT NEARLY AS PLENTIFUL in .40d, especially from butchery.

Currently seeing about upgrading my dwarves living quarters (goal is to have masterwork bed, masterwork obsidian door, cabinet, and coffer for all the non-nobles. The nobles will have masterwork platinum furniture, while the monarch will have masterwork adamantine furniture. The pump stacks for water and magma are gonna be a bit lower quality (after all, I need 279 pumps). I figure mere steel will be good enough.
