Yup, oDesk, Elance, all those freelancing sites are good money, especially if you're in a poor country. Minimum wage is $4/hour on oDesk. If you're a programming you can get a lot of money. Also high demand for things like data entry, writing, and so on.

You can try and do a logo drawing course and make some money designing logos, but I'd highly recommend requesting payment by hour or allowing only a certain amount of adjustments to a logo. Otherwise you'll be spending months tweaking some asshole's logo. 99designs is a great place to get some practice and build up a portfolio too.

A longer term solution would be to learn to use the stock market. There are plenty of good books on stocks and I could even teach you myself. It's not uncommon to get a ROI of over 100% on stocks if you have the balls to stick to the right methodology. But start by registering for an account, just filling in the forms can be tedious.
