basic rules here; embark site, backstory and screenshots to follow.

self imposed rules:

-only two military squads with a maximum of 3 dwarves in each squad. while a large military is powerful, i find that it is more interesting to limit yourself to a few elite champions rather than a horde of lesser troops.
-no candy. no exeptions. i want this fort to go on as long as possible before it is destroyed
-any noble that does not serve a function is to be killed regardless of the consequences. same goes for families
-elves must be killed.
-fortress defense races are on, with the exeption of furies.
-kobolds are our friends. there will be no unessecary killing of bolds
i made some changes to the dwarven RAWS, giving them some of the abilities of warlocks. why? becuse warlocks are awesome and dwarves are awesome and thus dwarf+warlock=!awesome! if this fortress dies then i will reclaim using gnomes

-dwarves now have the ethereal gate, soul syphon and ethereal forge buildings, suitably re-named


dont expect very many screenshots as i have not really mastered them yet. i will do my best do have an update every weekend

i am very sorry, but i will not be able to supply pictures for a while, due to a combination of my ineptitude with screenshots in general and my computer hating me

i have have also added a few hidden surprises in the RAWS. these are literal surprises mind you: i did a lot of editing with the RAWS but then i got distracted by 40k and (sadly) real life and forgot exactly what i put in there.  ! IIRC i added a domesticated insect and some deadlier ant-men. i think i may have added RAWS for some space marine wargear to,but that is probably the result of almost 8 hours playing dawn of war titanium wars alone 
but i digress. (i talk to much).

Dear Diary,

today the elf****ing nobles finally gave a verdict! the pompous ***holes have declared that: "for the crimes of booze stealing, sock smuggling, demon worship, and conspiracy to annihilate the mountain using dark magic, you are hereby sentenced to eternal exile along with six of your compatriots." just my luck, being forced to spend the rest of my life with this group of morons.by cthulu's chest hair my "compatriots are stupid!" saying they have the intelligence of a concussed goblin would be an overstatement of their intelligence! i have to go now diary, one of those loonies is trying to pet the carp and i should probably intervene before anyone loses a limb. goblin****ing inbred sockfondling wastes of good booze!

At last! we are free! tremble befor the might of... hmm what should we call ourselves? i am partial to killskullstabbyblood. in other news, Urist is furious at me. i dont no why, but he has revoked my sharp objects previliges for a month! ungrateful bastard... "stop killing the oxen" he says, "we need them to pull our wagon" he says, well i am sick and tired of listening to him.

dear diary,

Destot killed the oxen today. while i understand the importance of blood for the blood god and skulls for the skull throne,(and socks for the sock god) i fail to appreciate why he had to use my knitting needles to decapitate the poor thing, i need those for knitting socks! oh well, kids these days.
