[ALCOHOL_DEPENDENT] creature token questions
« on: March 27, 2014, 04:54:56 pm »

If I remove the [ALCOHOL_DEPENDENT] creature token from dwarves will they still drink alcohol? Will they prefer it to water? Will they still receive happy thoughts from quality booze?
I'm trying a vampire fortress and don't want to have permanent withdrawal penalties on my vampires, and I'm hoping this will avoid it. Are there any other consequences to this plan that I haven't anticipated?

Well, other than the fact that the migrants will probably all be drained of blood quickly and that everyone will die quickly, I don't think there would be any issues. I'm sure that the dwarves would still drink alcohol, but that they'd also go for some water.

I have a needlessly elaborate double-fort plan for dealing with that. In theory. I just want the non-vamped dwarves to keep acting dwarvenly (which will likely ruin my plan).

Ah, good. If it is needlessly elaborate than it is perfect. Make sure it involves lava! Lots and lots of lava!

And you need to somehow weaponize the duality of the fortress.

Only if they sleep in an unsecured area. Having done a vampire fort test before, if the vampires go a while without drinking, they will all dogpile the first migrant who sleeps. It is hilarious to see the entire fort pack themselves into the poor migrant's bedroom.

EDIT: Keas restricted to tropical forests where they belong.  Those evil, EVIL, foul little things.

Edit: The baby murderer became a friend of the fortress, which started a loyalty cascade, and now most of the squad is dead.
