Need some help with an unusual problem.
« on: March 18, 2014, 04:56:38 am »

I've put this in the modding section because I'm using DFhack to add Z levels to my embark.

Basically I'm building a pump stack thats really high. Higher than the ammount of Z levels that are available. So I'm using DFhack combined with infiniteSky plugin to add levels in. Now here is where it gets kind of weird.

That open space next to the stairs is where I get a collapse everytime. It always collapses on the same level (165) and it happens on both stacks in the same place everytime. I can't really see a reason for it but because I've been hacking Z levels I figured dorf physics are acting up.

I found http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2012:Sky_support on the wiki and I think it might be related but I can't be sure.

Can anyone shead some light on this? Theres bound to be a simple solution that I'm ignorant of.

Thanks guys and girls.

The staircase should be supporting it, but if it isn't then whatever you build in the open space would have no support, since floors don't give diagonal support. If it wouldn't mess up your pump stack, try building a floor adjacent to the space.
