I've been curious about what effects, if any, 5 Hour Energy might have on me should I ever get around to trying it.

I've been drinking multiple large cups of coffee daily—loaded with what many would consider ridiculous amounts of cream & sugar—ever since I was a toddler. Funny thing is, I don't ever get jittery, hyper, or feel exceptionally awake and focused because of it. I simply have a harder time reaching a normal level of wakefulness without it, and, of course, experience minor headaches for a bit if I'm off it for several days. Despite my excessive caffeine consumption habits, I'm actually a rather calm individual most of the time. Because of this, I'm inclined to think that the true effects and dangers of caffeine are generally blown far out of proportion.

maybe, your body has grown accustomed to having lots of caffeine in it, and it doesn't affect you as much as it would someone who had never drunken caffeine before?

thank you and have a nice day!

Aside from a minor spat with Coffee two years back, where I was having around the equivalent of 10 - 15 cups a day, caffeine tends to affect me positively or negatively very little.

It's different for everybody. If I have a lot of caffeine for a few days and then suddenly stop I get a gigantic migraine, and that makes me super cranky and fired-up over everything. It is not a fun trip, but it usually happens if I have two or more energy drinks on top of the usual amount of coffee I drink. I've never had Five Hour Energy before, so I don't know the particulars of that.

I am not entirely sure if this counts but,
my cousin has a friend who downed 6 of them in one sitting and 1, 1 liter of monster energy drink and ended up in the hospital for some heart problem thing (possibly heart attack i forget though)
I assume that this is useless information but in the case that it isn't, here ya go

If that's a real thing that happened, it does mostly communicate that you shouldn't overdose yourself with caffeine. That's about a gram and a half, and research suggests that's probably not dangerous unless you have a condition that prevents you from metabolizing caffeine, but it certainly is enough to fuck you up. It'd probably feel like you're having serious heart problems, at any rate.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I heard the diuretic effects of caffeine are a little overstated, and you would need to consume significant amounts to suffer any noticeable dehydration. Further, the drink in which the caffeine is delivered generally hydrates, somewhat countering the effect. An energy shot or caffeine pill may have a relatively strong diuretic effect - I don't know what the numbers are.
