DF crashes with MW v4h

I left all settings default, made sure DF was LAA, and tried to gen a world, I can't generate a large world at all (it's what I prefer to play with, with a long history, because I like going through the lore) with not much of any kinda of information in the Windows crash report, just "Program has stopped working" here are the problem details. If anyone has any advice on how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated.

I've experienced crashes during world gen. Seems to happen if I maximize the window during the world-gen process.

Hmm, should I leave it my focus window the whole time, and don't minimize it to the background?

So, I left it the main focus, non-maximized, and got to year 260 of generation of a large world with 500 year history, and it crashed just the same. Anyone have any advice at all? Because I enjoy playing on large worlds with a long history, it gives the world so much more character.

Either make the world smaller, the amount of civs smaller, or the history shorter.

See, I could expect that to happen if it started using too much memory (like vanilla does when not LAA), but it's not running outta memory, I've monitored the memory while running and it doesn't even hit 1gb before it crashes, and even if it did use over 2gb, with LAA on it shouldn't crash. I tried running default MW settings on a large region, and it happens, same with medium region. The only worlds that generate, are the MW specific worlds. If I can't generate a large region with default MW settings... That sounds like an issue in MW, especially since I can do it just fine with vanilla DF.

[EDIT] I don't mean to sound ungrateful or rude, I just have heard nothing but good things about MW, and I really want to play it, I just want to be able to play it in a similar type of world that I typically play DF in.

The vanilla worlds are really not made for MWDF and are known to crash.
Why not just take a proper world? There is more then enough choice...
Also long history is a terrible idea with MWDF, because instead if ' increasing game depth' you are only decreasing the number of civilizations drastically, as most of the new ones are not able to survive for long.... So you actually rob yourself of most MWDF has to offer.

Well, I typically like to crank up the number of civs. Plus, it seems with the "proper worlds" there isn't much generation/randomization, since they are all based on seeds, and there isn't a "proper world" large region, which is what I like, with a huge number of civs. If you have any advice for getting that to work with MW, I'll be forever grateful.
