Those damn mounted siegers!

Okay, so this seems to happen to me every time I have mounted siegers come (or at least the flying ones, but I'm beginning to wonder). The goblins (or maybe their mounts?) refuse to go anywhere even though there is a viable path into my fortress (and some of the mounts are building destroyers). In this particular case I had three squads of mounted gobs and a squad(?) of trolls. The trolls came in just fine and did their thing, and the same happened with one squad of goblins (spare the flying few that tried to flee and froze for the last month on their way out). But what's really got me, is an entire squad that froze on their way in and just refuse to move. I checked, their squad leader isn't on a flying mount, and he's alive. I'll add some screen caps, but I fear it might not show much.

and then there are the three goblin macemen on giant cave swallows that attempted to retreat that I'm not going to bother getting pics of. They're not stuck above trees or buildings, and just seem to be immobile.

Sorry if a fix for this has been posted anywhere, my search-fu skills weren't good enough to find it. Thanks!

I'm thinking it's because DF is trying to use the goblin to path, but really it's moving based on the mount, making it move into positions it can't normally get out of as a goblin and become stuck. I just tried it again, and the same thing happened, related to the flying mounted squadleaders being over obstacles and being unable to go down, and the aquatic mounted squadleaders going into ponds and being unable path up out of them.

Yeah, it's well known bug. Also, most animals now don't want to fight and will flee from your dwarves, contrary to their riders' wishes.
Use crossbows.

You can go into the raws and take away the 'flyer' tag from giant bats and giant cave swallows. This will make them crash to the ground and start pathing again once you restart the game. It's rather scummy, but i don't consider immobile siegers floating somewhere in the air until they die of old age a valid tactical challenge.

Maybe another tag removal, but it seems like that'd be a bit different now. Perhaps add some aquatic or amphibious tag to the goblins themselves?

What would it be like to live in a world that was copy/pasted? Would we even notice? If not, how many times have we switched celestial harddrives or whatever?

Yeah, you need more dakka. Put down marksman towers around your map, and just move dwarves to the ones closest to the goblins. Watch out for those elite marksgoblins though.
