It might be a duplicate raws glitch.  I had a troll fortress once because of that :o.

I've had a troll fortress on purpose before. Modded trolls. Great trolls. Sentient slightly larger than normal trolls!

I made a mistake when modding once and ended up selecting a dwarven civilization, but when I embarked all my "people" were crocodiles. I was instantly pleased, until I learned they cannot be assigned anything, and will never do anything but meander and starve to death.

Which is why you now need to modify crocodiles correctly and give them their own civilisation!

Can you make [ANIMAL_PERSON] civilizations and make them controllable?  If so modding Rocs to have Animal_People, then giving them a civilization and making them controllable would be cool.
