Goblins wont be volcanoed
« on: February 01, 2014, 08:31:24 am »

So ive built a floor over the volcano, with floor hatches every second tile, just like the standard shooting-range setup.
Just that instead of the shooting range theres magma a z-level below.

For the last 30 minutes, no dwarf went forth to pen the goblins, get scared and push them through the hatch into the volcano.

What am i doing wrong?

EDIT: nvm, im an idiot. Its pit, not pen. Ive changed the zone to pit, and theyre getting ovened now.

My son, many speak of the honor in war.
My preferred method is to wait until their back is turned, then impale them with a pike held by someone else.
Preferrably from a distance.

Well I see you solved your problem but theres another clear problem.  Wheres no mention of tiki masks, shamans, or chanting to armok involved in this setup.  you cant have a proper sacrificial chamber built over a volcano if you dont setup the proper ambiance.

I am working on lining the happy fun pit with silver statues, but workers get scared by frikkin vultures all the time...

Might have to close the thing from top.

If i could get my markdwarves to train, i might be able to shoot the birds down, but theyre in a state of complete denial again...
