As I dislike the addition of diseases, I unchecked them in my game. Well, that doesn't prevent animals becoming rabid and infect dwarves I guess, because I got one dwarf having rabies killing a few other dwarves and starting a tantrum spiral.
I don't think it is left in on purpose, because rabies is definetely a disease, maybe an oversight?!
How do I protect my dwarves from rabies, without building the economy necessary for treating diseases (because I don't want them in my game). Is there a command in dfhack to find out which animal is infected, to remove rabid animals something like that?
Seeing my fortress crumble away after many hours because of a disease with the knowledge I deactivated them is very disappointing...

this should be fixed up in the upcoming release of masterwork, as it's already been addressed in the SWP.

Thank you for your reply. So two questions remain: What to do right now? Is there a work around, maybe a fix somewhere? And when does the new release come out. I also have to admit, that I'm not used to those format you linked me to, so sorry, can't work with that

i guess you could take away it from the existing raws (from the animals that are affected by natural rabies)
