Catching FBs
« on: January 18, 2014, 10:36:03 pm »

I'm trying to catch cave spiders (the vermin, not the giant) to use in a forgotten beast trap, but my trappers are only capturing hamsters, and whenever I try to lock them in the caverns to prevent this, they "can't find path" presumably because there aren't any spiders. Is there any way to fix this? Or any other way of obtaining web for the trap, besides vermin and giant cave spiders?
New question: If I get an FB trapped in a room with the floor made entirely of cage traps, and then drop rocks on its head, will it fall unconscious/get stunned, and thus captured? I'm guessing no, but might as well ask.

You need GCS or FB webs for the trap, as other webs aren't thick enough to trap creatures.

Vermin webs don't work? I thought that they were the same as giant webs. Thanks for the advice.

I don't know about dropping items on its head, but if you drop a floor on its head that will instantly kill it (I've done it twice just in my latest fort). If it gets knocked out during a cave-in it might get trapped.

Lielac likes adamantine, magnetite, marble, the color olive green, battle axes, cats for their aloofness, dragons for their terrible majesty, women for their beauty, and the Oxford comma for its disambiguating properties. When possible, she prefers to consume pear cider and nectarines. She absolutely detests kobolds.

FB and titan are stun immune iirc

The reson vermin webs don't work usually is that it is much harder to get them to make the webs on top of the traps

Jam a door with its corpse and let all the goblins in. Hey, nobody said it had to be a weapon against your enemies.
