Is the forum's PM feature broken?

I tried to send a PM, and it said it was sent successfully, but there's nothing in my sent box. Suicide Junkie previously sent a PM to the same user (she's been AWOL in a game we're all playing) and had the same problem...

Go to Profile -> Personal Messaging.  The "Save a copy of each personal message in my sent items by default" box starts unticked, that may be the problem.

Which is unfortunately the default setting so if you're shooting off PMs quickly you might even miss the box completely and wonder where the hell your PM just went to.
