Are there any hacks mods or workarounds to slow down the passage of time? Essentially I would like to keep all things equal, maintain a FPS of ~100, but just have more "ticks" per day, or more "ticks" per year. It would essentially allow you to get much more work done between migrant waves and between caravans, because your dwarves move at the same speed, do work at the same speed, but instead of 1200 ticks per day and 403200 per year you could increase that tenfold. I've read the relevant wiki articles and it seems like this sort of thing is imbedded pretty deep into the guts of the code and wouldn't be a simple mod by any means, and there would be many unintended side effects to debug, but the ingenuity of the users around here isn't to be underestimated and I'm sure there's others who are interested in this topic.

So essentially you want to reduce the frequency of caravans and sieges?

The only way you could possibly do this would be to effectively turn the clock back every so often, and that can cause all sorts of problems that we can't easily predict - most notably, you could end up with historical events happening out of order, and we don't know what effects that would have.

If you wanted to delay caravans, migrants, and sieges, you could certainly use DFHack to cancel those events after they're scheduled but before they happen.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
