Cold and harsh. The southernmost islands are barren landscapes home only to lowlying plants and seasonal populations of arctic animals. The ones slightly to the north are frigid but capable of supporting large forests.

Are there any civilised populations inhabiting the southern islands?

None civilized, but a savage group of orcs who worship the death god do. They hold sacrifices and plan an attack on the other, weaker orcs and humans.
Do the other orcs and humans know of these orcs?

No, they've passed themselves off as a normal Orcs to everyone else.

Why do they worship the Death God?
