History not the same.

I want to make sure that I'm at war with the goblins. I did some searching on this subject and found that if you run a world for a long time (1050 for example) then you can go through legends mode to see that your desired civilization was at war between year 300 and year 350.

Then you run the same worldgen again, but stop generation at year 325 and you'll be permanently at war with that civ...

Except every time I try it, the history is different. So in one worldgen, legends mode says that the Tongs of Eviscerating is at war between year 55 and 67. So I run it again and stop at year 62. I check legends mode and there's no war at all, with different battles and different heroes. Everything else is the same though - embark site, prospect all is identical, civilisation names, vocano locations etc - but the history is all wrong.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Do you get rejections when genning the world? Several times in the worldgen cookbook thread I've seen people specify that the world they're offering generated without any rejections, so maybe that has something to do with your issues.

If nothing but the history is changed, it could be that setting a different history end date had an influence. You might need to start worldgen with the exact same parameters, including the 1050 years of history, then stop it manually at the right year (wait for the year to show up in the legends generation, then hit <enter>).

Worldgen slows as the year count goes up, and depending on how slow it is you'll need to halt worldgen when it's some years before the date you want. Since you have a twelve-year window before the world's a hundred years old, it'll be easy to get the date you want.

My current embark is on a tomb within range of a tower. Regenning the world so that it ended generation in the year after the tower was built resulted in the tower moving slightly, leaving it out of range of the tomb.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

Lucky for me there's a war that is pretty long. I should be able to hit a 12 year sweet spot.
