Interrupted by friendly Legendary Human
« on: November 11, 2013, 05:19:28 am »

I'm playing with Masterwork Fortress and most (if not all) of the superfluous options disabled, including 'evil twin' races and non-standard enemies/invaders.

Today, a "Legendary Human" announced his arrival, much like any megabeast is wont to do. He's listed as Friendly in the units screen, but my dwarves are scared of him. He's standing in a very awkward place in my base entrance and refuses to leave.

I suppose my question is not so much, "how do I deal with this/get rid of him", because I know the drill. I just... what? Legendary Human? Why? Was this supposed to happen? I mean, I won't pretend to understand what goes through the minds of some mod creators when they come up with crazy new things, but this just seems silly. He's just a regular ol' human male - completely naked mind you - pretending to be some fearsome beast, but not actually attacking anything.

Anyone seen this happen before?

(Just for funsies, I whipped up this little image that I think aptly describes the situation. Warning: harsh language.)

Edit: Welp... he wandered around for a bit, checked out our sweet spiral staircase, and then buggered off back to the edge of the map and disappeared. No idea what that was about, but I'm glad he didn't stick around waving his bare cheeks at everyone.

I'd guess a were-beast. They're not all 'human peasant' or the like, though usually they run away faster

Werebeast for sure.  If you have military, station them close by.

I had one show up today, kill a kid, and run off the map.

Is a werebeast. I don't know why he hasn't fled, that is rare.
In any case, you are fortunate. try to capture him alive, you can do a lot of dwarfy thinks with a catured werebeast.

He did eventually wander off the map. Thanks for the replies! Now I know that he was a werebeast, I'm kinda glad he visited while he was human. :P

Just had the same thing on vanilla DF. Werebeast was my first thought too.

This one was called "the Martyr" and threw a dog against a wall so.. he didn't last very long :)
