Reflexively jab the man in the face.

You try to attack the mans face, but he blocks it

"Whoa, whoa whoa, I'm not here to hurt you"
Attached to his pocket is an empty vial of a strange liquid called 'forget'

Ask him about the funny little 'coincidence' that he just so happens to have an empty vial labelled 'Forget' and we seem to have forgotten everything.

He pulls out his vial
"What? This old thing?........it's just.....memories I'd rather not share"

He reluctantly hands you the vial, it seems dry, but you are in a desert, so any liquid that was in there could have evaporated quickly

Hand it back, but keep an eye on him. Watch for any suspicious movements. Also, look down at what we are wearing.

"So...any clue on how to get back to civilization?"
An empty desert envelops you in all directions, dry, full of dunes, and completely lifeless.

((continued from last post))
"OH"
He pulls out a handwritten note, crumpled and covered in sand
"It says if I travel a little  *points over in the distance behind you" in this direction, I should reach the city of Dust, it doesn't say how long it'll take though"
