Any way to make the font bigger?
« on: December 30, 2013, 09:41:17 pm »

I haven't played in a while, but I don't remember the font of the game being this small! Just installed 34.11 and I can barely see the text in the game. Is it possible to make this bigger without changing the size of everything else?

Toggling TrueType font might help.

Maybe try a tileset or graphics pack?

Already have truetype enabled. And I would like to use the original tileset.
For now I just used the mouse-wheel to zoom in, which does increase the font size, but makes the tiles too big. Oh well, if there's no way I'll have to get used to either small text or big tiles :)

In your DF\data\init\ folder there is a file called "init.txt" that you can use to give it a larger font. Change the following:

This is the size and font for windowed mode.  Changing to the 800x600 font might make you happier.
If set below 256x256 it specifies the grid size instead, with a minimum of 80x25.

[WINDOWEDX:800]
[WINDOWEDY:600]
[FONT:curses_640x480.png]

Beyond that, you will have to use the mouse wheel. I don't see any larger fonts in the DF\data\art\ folder that could be used. You can also change the window size, turn sound on or off, and other things.

Mousewheel works great.

Edit: Sorry, reading comprehension fail. Mousewheel changes the size of everything.
