So I'm doing some adventuring right now, and I was thinking that the thing that would really make it cool would be if there were some more crafting/interaction options. Specifically, I want to gather wild plants as edibles, tan hides, make leather and cloth armor and bandages, and maybe make some of my own weapons. Are there any mods like that currently?

I can't think of any mods that deal with food or bandages, but there was a mod called Wanderer mod that had a load of crafting options, such as leather and bone armor, wooden crutches, and the all too rare backpack. It's a little rough around the edges and isn't seeing much support these days, but it beats smacking two rocks together to make one sharper, and if you're not happy with it, it's easy enough to modify the reactions to require less materials.

Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom and the Dragon Ball Z mod are good choices. Try even mixing them for a more badass effect!
