spawning necro towers

I am trying to spawn multiple necro towers on a small map. I have it set up to generate 35 civs and 1000 secrets and vast swaths of neutral, low-savagery land which I have read is preferred by necromancers. Is this correct? Because after a dozen or so world-gens going for hundreds and hundreds of years I haven't even seen one.

I just would like a confirmation on what type of terrain is preferable for spawning necro towers - Do necromancers like grasslands, hills, or mountains? Good/Neutral/Evil surroundings? Temperature/rainfall? Forests or open spaces? Volcanism? Thanks for your help.

Mod out inmortality from goblins and elves (substitue it for a suitable big number, like 1000 years). That allows them to be necromancers, duplicating the number of potential towers.

Also, increase the site number cap.

Site cap is 100000. I suppose I could mod goblins and elves, but I would prefer not too - I like to play vanilla DF.

Would having a large number of vampire curses impact necromancers at all? I currently have vampire curses set to 40. If someone becomes a vampire will that stop them from becoming obsessed over life and death?

Increase the number of civilizations. More civilizations mean more wars and more wars mean more necros.

I thought I would share that. I changed the worldgen parameters to spawn 50 civs, and only spawn large amounts of mountain and grasslands. This seemed to do the trick - I got 6 necromancer towers! There are no elves because there are no forests, but besides that one flaw I did find the embark I was looking for. It also has a volcano and a river starting point.
