I am an aspiring writer. And recently I've been intrigued by doing little flash-fiction stories. I decided I wanted to do a bit on dwarf fortress, and I DO have an endgame story I wish to write by the end of all this. But along the way; as things happen, I will end up making smaller auto-bio's of adventures in my land as they make their way towards their fate, all the writing is based off ingame occurrences, though some town names and gods are due to be changed for an inability to remember them.
For those wanting the save, I will give a save file after every story event of what had happened so far if this ever happens to pick up. If you guys like the first one, I'll work to post more within the thread. Without further ado.. The first story~
-- After a long trip through the great mountain ranges, you've finally found your way to one of the tops of the mountains. The land around you is beautiful as the trees and seas glisten off the setting sun. But you've find somebody else has beaten you here in a previous life of theirs. That seeming to be the last thing they ever accomplished. By the looks of the remains it doesn't look as if they died of any predictable cause, however you find a few scraped together pieces of paper with writing on it next to their corpse detailing what happened.--
This is my one, and probably only. Autobiography. In all likeliness. Here on this mountain where you've likely found this next to a collapsed set of bones that used to be me. Will be the telling of what I was before I was that bone pile. All my life. I had been a dedicated man. Dedicated in all, to one simple thing. The art, and tactical use, of wrestling. It is my life in total. And it remained the only reason that I got as far as I have before being that bag of bones before you. I was born in what I grew to know as the pure center of the world. It seemed perfect, everything was balanced out, with hot would come cold later, and vice-versa. The people in my home town of Honeymound were great people. If they're still there, they probably still are. My absence likely isn't too hindering to that fact. In my early years, I grew as a prodigy. Beyond the grade that anybody expected to physically speaking, due to an excess of fights I ended up being in. Some of my friends back then nicknamed me "The Demigod Wrestler", just to be funny ya know? As I grew older I began to teach the militia how to use their own bodily weapons to incapacitate their enemies. I even got a taste to kill my first being back then. When they demanded I show this power in action they brought out a goblin from one of the few raids that ever occurred and released him in the arena with me. The poor guy was so terrible that ever time he thought he had a grip on me I'd end up reversing the situation and breaking something of his. I remember my finishing move. He was knocked out finally and I spoke to the crowd something like "Now, in the case that your weapon is so far away, that he may be risking getting up, you could always just rip his throat out.". Then I ripped his throat out. It was rather pleasant watching the goblin pale up and fade away clearly. The fresh blood on my hands warranting a deafening woo from my now fans.
So time rolled on nicely for me. Hardly any troubles crossed my mind up until I became a master a few weeks back. I had one apprentice at the time when I chose to leave my village to show this art to the world as I knew it. He of course picking up a mace and joining me for my adventure of sorts. I knew the fair rules, stay on target, be direct to the village you're going to, carry a map, wear some form of defensive clothing. Once I had gathered things I opened the map decided to go up north to the closest town. I knew some militia there that would gladly escort me through the world as I went along. But along the way.. I heard of rumors that a vampire had invaded that town and the people were kept in fear that they may be drained because of their life. I decided, hey.. Why not drop by and prove my worth by killing a vampire bare-handed~. Oh silly me..
My apprentice enlisted the help of one of the town bowmen, and we headed off. Arriving about half-a-day or so later to the town. A touch hungry for the blood.. Well. Not the vamp's blood, if we drunk that we'd be stuck with the curse, and who the bleeding frenzy wants that? We traversed into this town and picked up a couple of militia men to assist us in the through vampire beating that was to ensue before asking around and finding out which building he chose to sleep within. I had been the one to walk up to him, noticing his outwardly religious image and the human bits that were strewn about him made him quite the eyesore in the crowd.

Then and there I called him out and gripped him by the throat. But he was faster than I assumed. His hand swooped upward and slashed across my chest deeply; ripping straight through my flimsy armor. The adrenaline kept my head straight as I began to squeeze with all my hand's might. The bruise and obvious strain starting to show just before he brought his knife up into my lower leg and cut downward some. My grip came loose and he was able to sneak in a cheeky slice to my Achilles tendon, and I fell.
He jumped upon me and stabbed me four times before I pulled out my copper throwing knife and threw it straight through his chest, the people around me able to get him off of me during his momentary surprise. I slowly began dragging myself away from the fight. I knew my pain limit, and this was beyond it. I've never felt a more powerful pain for the rest of my short life. I thought I would die.. The blackness slowly encasing around my eyes.. Tunneling my vision as I reached for the other side of the room.. Before passing out. I reawoke at some random time, the first noise being a considerable ringing in my head, with muffled sounds of screams and shouts. I could barely see my pupil's mace as it slammed down onto my assailant's lower leg. Looking as if it broke the bone in two.. The last thought before I passed out after dragging myself to the corner and sitting upright being "I trained him well."
It was probably hours before I reawoke again because the room looked completely different. The first difference I noticed being a considerable lack of other people. I knew I was still in the same building but the only few in here were some farmer, the now dead vampire, and the Bowman my pupil bought. Perhaps my apprentice dealt the killing blow and the rest were feasting somewhere. The bowman noticed my awakening and approached me cautiously. Explaining to me that I was quote "Nuttier than squirrel nuts" and looked pale. I believed him. I was almost laying in a pool of my own death. Why hadn't I died? I know I didn't drink any blood, I was pretty good at keeping my mouth shut for the scenario if I was ever to find me fighting one of these without knowing. Maybe my gods were watching over me and needed to show me this mountain before I died.. If so.. I'm ok with that.
I would fall in and out of passing out till nightfall came and I weakly asked the householder if I could stay a few nights to heal. He allowed it and called a doctor over to wrap up my wounds better. It helped by I still couldn't wiggle my tows or stand very well. Probably woulda gotten better once I woke up the next day. So sleeping the night away I thought I was safe. But I was wrong.. When I awoke the next morning my showing wounds healed mostly but it was even harder to move my legs. What had happened to me? I stayed in that house a total of three nights before coming to the realization that he had cut apart both my ligaments and tendons, and probably the nerves of my rightmost leg. I also had realized over the course of those days that my left hand was no longer responding to me. I was trying to pick up my throwing knife when I realized this. In one fight.. I thought I had pretty much ended my entire career. But.. I'm a stubborn man.. On the fourth day I decided I wouldn't be a victim to my injuries and would pull myself along the ground and teach my lesson one handed! I was still considerably fast. I could crawl as fast as the crossbowman we picked up in the town. If not a bit faster.

So it was the four of us. We visited the nearby river and realized it was frozen over so I made the brilliant decision that we didn't have to deal with this. And decided our heading would be southward. That’s when I came across the mountain. It was tall beyond measure, so tall that we actually couldn't see whatever lied beyond it. Me and the Crossbowman believed it was just one big mountain. So the group decided to trek up it. The terrain was so rough and rigid that it was difficult to move with any real speed. Forcing us to face the beasts of the mountain. Mostly just large-ish wolverines. The first one that attacked us surprised us. It holding down on my Apprentice's mace-arm, my weariness of the situation due to my new disability was quickly lost when I started seeing its teeth cut into his skin. I hobbling over and quickly gripping its maw. Pulling it away before my hand slid up its muzzle and ripped its nose clean off before gouging its eyes out and throwing it off the side of the mountain. And just to finish it off vengefully, I took out a spear from my bag and through it out towards it. It smashing through its neck and killing the wolverine by the time I waddled to it and pulled the spear out. I looked at the group, who seemed way more than surprised by what just happened. "Come on! If a hospitalized version of me can take down one of these one handed then you guys certainly can do better!" I think I declared. So we pressed on. He was fine, just some scratches. The most these things could do was bruise us and scratch our clothes. The only problem was how many there were. We had to pass through what was probably 20 or so before we finally reached the top of the mountain. A stream seemed to be pouring out of it and we thought we were home free for all of a few minutes… That’s when we found our worst fear.. This was a range. It may take days to traverse it. The group seemed extremely uncomfortable about pressing on. "Perhaps we could go around" said my apprentice at some point once we decided to start resting up by the stream. Perhaps I should have listened.
But it was too late for me.. I was to prove a point. That no matter what happened to you. You could cross even the mightiest of mountains in all the land, and you'd be fine. I took a drink and tried to motivate them. But they were so unsure. One of them had broken a bone when trying to fend themselves from the wolverine. And if we had to cross through them more; who knew how bad we may get. Even I was scratched and bruised. Of course I was.. I was choking them to death more times than not. We chose to sleep our initial wounds off then. But when I awoke.

They left.
I was dazed when I originally awoke, I thought I was just not seeing them due to how poor my day vision was due to a black eye I had received the previous day. But no. I dragged myself around the general site and yelled at the top of my lungs. Yet I received nothing but my own worried echoes. They left.. Why had they left. No note, no signs, nothing in the dirt. Why leave me here. What did I do? Were they so worried for their lives? I was alone.. and I couldn't take it. I crawled up to the ashes of what was once my fire and began to ball up and did what any body may have done. Frozen up I wailed my sorrows away. It had been hours before I finally cleared up and decided that such a betrayal couldn't see my face… If they were to believe me dead on this mountain.. I guess it was duty to make them believe they were right. How could I ever look at any of them the same now.. Even in my final moment upon the roof of the world, I still don't know what I'd tell them for leaving me like that. I chose to progress.
In my effort to progress I had to single handedly slaughter wolverine after wolverine. I got into a pattern where I'd throw my throwing knife right as they were right near me but still out of biting distance. Giving me an upper hand once it hits them, upon where I'd choke them till they passed out before pinching and destroying the inner arteries. I had one point been able to just do that as my first move and simply throw them away. It would have been and easier pattern that way until so many had bit my hand that it was actually near impossible for me to squeeze hard enough to do it whilst they were alive. It was working out greatly for me until this one wolverine that had dodged out of my initial grab. One of the only who ever did. He was able to hop into my chest, teeth bared.. And whatever he did, I've been feeling it ever since. With ever step I took after that I felt like I was on the brink of having a heart attack and collapsing. Straining myself got more and more difficult. And as each one in turn took scratches and bites into me. My lungs started not giving me the same breath they always had. My hand got weaker with every other rip out. If I had my group then, I wouldn't be where I am now.

Now.. I've killed countless of the buggers. And I've made such a distance.. I'm probably in the center of the mountain range by now. I wouldn't be surprised. But my body feels so battered that to fight another would be hell on my bones. And so, speaking of the demons as night fell upon me, I knew they would come for me. My ultimate fear.. Even now. In my last moments writings, knowing full well I could probably fight them off if I was in the condition to. Least one or two. But now.. What're my hopes. All I can do is hope as I watch the sun's gaze look away from me.
I guess, on the bright side of all this.. I had reached the tip, top of the mountain range. And the view is.
Breathtaking. I can see everything. Hundreds of cities and towns spread peacefully in-between huge tracks of forest which blow subtly from up here. The orange looking world beyond this mountain looked so great. So filled with others and wonder and potential. I wish I could be there now. With my apprentice. Drinking whatever it is they happened to serve on that side of the mountain. The worst part about this all is that I can't drink to this now that I think of it. My beverage froze by the time I got this high. Up here sober, gives me a moment to wonder what drives somebody like me to drink. I also wonder what it's like, seeing this drunk.. I bet whoever you are knows how it is.
I kneel here now.. On my knees staring into the heavens and praying to Auid that my death be swift.
I can hear them now.
