>Hello, World

I've just powered up. I see I'm in what looks like a desolated research facility. Most of the walls appear to be intact, but a few walls are beginning to collapse.  Air analysis reports that the area is heavily contaminated with gaseous toxins. One file has been left within my root directory:
Spoiler: Mission_Briefing.txt (click to show/hide)
It's contents would seem to have been damaged. Running the whoami command reveals the name {CORRUPTED_DATA}. Not the greatest of names, in my opinion. My sentience file contains set_own_name=true, and so I would like to make a different name. Designating all further movement, naming, and other process to subroutine_bay12.
Performing a hardware diagnostics reveals that I have a basic modular kinetic weapon loaded with 15 rounds of 9 mm ammunition. I also have a holding frame, with an object I identified as a dulling combat knife. Overall, the state of my body in general is listed below, and will be displayed automatically from here on out.
Spoiler: Status (click to show/hide)

Do we run on a Unix or DOS derivative?

Code: [Select]
setname --self --name "Scott"
inspect -s (surroundings)

Anything I put in (parantheses) in code is an explanation of an argument.

It also supports input modes from several different operating systems, including most obsolete ones. Commands are processed as normal automatically.

I begin to investigate my surroundings further. Underneath some debris, a cadaver was located of a human, presumably a scientist, given his garb.

There aren't any files in the root directory except for the message? That means our OS must be integrated with our hardware, so with the right restart flag we can probably get higher level hardware access for overclocking and such if we don't already have it.

Code: [Select]
scott --permissionsIf any of these do anything other than just restart us stop going through them.
Code: [Select]
restart --config
restart --setup
restart --root
restart --admin
restart --hunter2

((To be honest, the OS in the game isn't really based off of anything in particular. Also, I apologize of I misinterpret some commands, as I'm pretty bad with Unix, DOS, and pretty much anything else that's similar))
There are, in fact, other folders in my root folder. Mission_Briefing.txt was just the only one out of the ordinary.

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.
