A final address to sjm9876 and GreatWyrmGold:
I can now be open with you on the issue of our earlier alliance. I never intended to ally you two, and I'd never have placed my Capital in Terra if I did not intend to annex the two of you. To place my Capital there and ally the two of you would have been a supremely crippling move, whereas to place my Capital there and annex the two of you was, in effect, the best opening move available on the board. I only agreed to the alliance in the first place because, once GWG proposed it, to decline it would be a clear indication of the incoming aggression.
In the future, if you have any knowledge of the player in question, try to determine why they'd opt for the setup they've opted for. While zacen299 is a viable ally for me, and therefore allying me was a calculated risk for him, the two of you never were so and could, therefore, have expected me to do what I did from the very start; you had two options, to remain sufficiently militarized that I'd be forced to maintain the alliance, against my wishes, or to immediately act towards my destruction. In doing neither, but, in fact, maintaining token militaries and allowing me that industrial center, you condemned yourselves.
As to how you should have handled Taricus' warning, to openly heed it was to warn me to immediately annex you, rather than give you time. Annexing you as early as I did actually reduced how much I gained from such annexation, in spent AP, and, therefore, I'd likely have given you another couple of turns before attacking. Had you replied to him in PMs, or not, then pretended to stand against him in the thread, you might have bought yourselves time to counter my imminent offensive. While it is possible that I'd have caught on to your movements, or that, without an industrial complex, you'd still lose militarily, it never hurt anyone to improve their odds.
Presenting nor necessity (risk) nor profit (long term viability) for me to ally you, and yet powerful attractives (your Capitals) towards your annexation, the outcome could only be that which it was. Better luck next time.
