Macro Issue
« on: December 08, 2013, 04:03:07 pm »

I know the basics of macroing, from the wiki anyhow. I ctrl-r to record it, do the motion, press ctrl-r to stop it, press ctrl-save to save it, press ctrl-l to load it, press ctrl-u+50 to loop it 50 times and ctrl-p to play it. Problem is, it only plays it once and not 50 times. Am I doing it right or..?
Another question; How do I delete saved macros?

The only difference between a human student and a dwarf is that dwarfs have the ability to create and destroy matter.
So will the dwarf with the broken spine recover and use a crutch?

your df folder, either in the base folder, or somewhere in the save folder, now has a map named 'macro'

I remember I had the 'only plays once' too at some time, but I forgot what I did wrong

I prefer to use external tools for macros (autohotkey) because I had also some problems.

if the ctrl p starts it how do you type in the +50?  must have to save it as +50?

well, I found the thing I used to do wrong with ctrl-u

I pressed (ctrl-u) (50) (enter) (ctrl-p)
I pressed enter after the 50. without it, it works for me

if the ctrl p starts it how do you type in the +50?  must have to save it as +50?

No, you can just do an action or series of action you want repeated once and then use ctrl-u and a number to repeat the saved macro that many times. One thing I used it for a lot was for trading. Enter and down to the next item repeated for as many items in a row I want to trade at that point. Doesn't always work too well with bins involved.
