Anybody who uses DFhack and is aware of the migrant issue when the dead/missing list gets above 3000 is probably going to trim it when it gets to that point.

My latest fort just fell to a swarm of Giant Capuchins - so, all of them, I guess.

I've cleared my dead/missing list with dfhack 4-5 times (usually at around 4,000, leaving 400 or so behind), and I'm at 2000 now, so I'd estimate 15,000 total. My fort is about 90 years old now and situated between two towers. I get 3 sieges, mostly goblins, in a typical year.

This thread makes me feel like a newblet.

It also highlights my extreme OCD, wherein I MUST HAVE A CLEAN DEATH LIST.
