My Military seem to be rotting....
« on: November 17, 2013, 03:29:15 pm »

It seems that after a fight with a FB with deadly dust, my whole military(Aka 10 dwarves) has rotting bodies, what should I do!

Set up a Hospital and hope that they survive.
You could as well wash them before by forcing them through water without drowing them.

My first thought when seeing this was, meh, it happens. Hospital and emergency conscription of doctors to heal the poor sods. Make sure they are not dragging contaminants around, otherwise you might wind up with rotting pets/babies.

Hmm this reminds me, can you still rot off the pain receptors on your military in this version so they no longer give in to the pain?

I think if the skin rots off it might make pain less of a problem.

is it full body necrosis? I had a marksdwarf with that once and it cost her her eyes.

Did her eyes rot out (i.e. did it say so in her description) or did she just go blind. I had a bunch of marksdorfs go blind from FUN, but when I started a new fort they migrated and regained their vision. Must've been a dorf Jesus running around or something.

If their fat rots off, doesn't that mean you just got free fireproofing?

...why do your hydras have two more heads than mine?
Does that mean male hydras... oh god dammit.

I don't think fat can actually rot off entirely, arena tests with heavy necrosis syndromes always end up with the skin/infected area having major rotting, but not being destroyed.

Also, does muscle have a HEATDAM point? If so, it's be hard to kill a dwarf with fire, but not impossible (Probably)

If your animals aren't expendable, you could always station a dwarf or two out there?

All organic tissue has a heatdam point at which it starts to disintegrate. It's rather high on non-fat tissues though, so a fatless dwarf will often drown in magma rather than melt.

Just posting because the next thread down from this one when I clicked on this forum is the one titled "...said no dwarf ever" and it looks like the forum is lying again.
