Actual crimes
« on: July 17, 2014, 09:02:43 pm »

I want dwarves to be punished for actual crimes, not just tantruming or disobeying a mandate. You know, like maybe sneaking extra food, or stealing peoples items, or heck, maybe even assisting the gobos when they come to invade you.

Oh, and for all those lurkers, do us all a favor and make an account so we can hear your input, because believe me, we want to hear it :P

My bet is that crime in fortress will come more into play with economy. Petty theft of other dwarves worthless crap possessions,  up to possible jealousy fueled murders.

Right now, dwarf fortresses are very leftist.

Or perhaps just giving to player freedom to punish any dwarf they want? If someone for example is acting lazy, just go into justice screen, pick crime and punish dwarf! Perhaps sentences and such are random but at least player have better control...

I do that. If there is a pesky mayor that needs removing, I have a vampire who killed about 13 dwarves due to ongoing issues with burrowing and equipment getting (I eventually chained him in the middle of my arena and let the gobbos out), but since I only ever convicted him for 1 murder, I still have a bunch of others that can be used to remove dwarves if necessary.

Always a safe default assumption in this game

Are you the KGB, perchance?
