Forcing dwarves to seek medical attention
« on: November 06, 2013, 02:13:33 pm »

My miner broke her left elbow and lower arm in a mining accident, immediately got up and went back to work, shortly suffering a broken right hand in another accident. The health screen has her listed as needing diagnosis, and I have doctors standing idle, but she's wandering around with no job. Will she eventually give in and seek out a doctor, or will it eventually heal on its own, or is she simply useless now?

have you got a hospital zone designated?  and are any of your doctors actually set to diagnose?

well you could try burrowing her in the hospital, make sure you put a meeting zone tile in the area so she has something to draw her to the burrow.

Creating a hospital zone did the trick.

I knew from past experience that even without a hospital zone, wounded dwarves would be recovered to some random bed and doctors would come treat them, so I assumed that an injured-but-still-mobile-dwarf would do the same thing with an available bed.

Silly me.

Silly me.
For expecting Dwarves to act rationally? Agreed.
