Laptop refuses to have anything to do with Windows

I have an IBM thinkpad x41 tablet that I tried to put windows xp on. The installation failed and I ended up putting Ubuntu on it. A month afterwards I wanted to put windows on it. When I went to install windows from USB (my thinkpad doesn't have a cd drive) all I get is a white blinking line in the top left corner. Any help installing windows would be appreciated.
