Moving camera around faster?
« on: October 05, 2013, 08:11:59 am »

I wanted to ask if anyone has any tips on moving around... it's slightly painful to wait for those 100 z levels pass by as I hold > key. Is it possible to use Points or anything similar in order to just jump to an important place with my camera?

To put it even more shortly - is it possible to create shortcuts that move my camera to certain location?

[H] (i.e. shift 'h') to access the hotkey menu.

You can also hold shift to move several z levels at once.

I wish I could... I run it on laptop so I need the shift to write > in the first place.

you can hold shift and press left/right/up/down to scroll around a single z level much faster. Also helps to designate larger areas and squares.

You can change keybindings in the 'Esc' -menu.

I like to use '5' for going down a z-level and '0' for going up. Makes it a lot easier to only use one key and have it right where my navigating hand is anyway. I tried once to have macros to go up/down ten levels with shift, but it never quite worked to my satisfaction.
