Tell me your stories and if yo have over succeeded.

I thought my hero was unbeatable! I was able to kill Ogre mothers in single strikes, nothing could appose me, I so boldly walked into the chamber of King Leti the Cappybara! he was dressed in fine silks and rings made of elf teeth, Elves had been killed to extinction on this continent at the hands of this vile fiend, and he wore there teeth as a trophy of his successful conquest.

Challenged him and he stepped forward! we were matched blow for blow! I landed a few hits that glances away or bruised his body! these were blows that would have split a lesser man in half, and one mis step is all it took, I had turned to face a soldier entering the room and the demon king stepped forward pushing his putrid paw threw my face and out the back of my skull! puncturing a hand sizes hole threw my face as if it we butter, my body was sent back skidding along the ground breaking every bone along the way.

A giant one-eyed hare twisted into human form. It has long black hair and it moves- it doesn't move, it just sits there and breathes fire at me. Won't chase me down stairs or anything. I spend about half an hour attacking it, dodging/blocking the fire, throwing coffers full of armour at it until it causes me to dodge down some stairs and alert a crossbowman who instantly brains me.

Try surrounding it in campfires and throwing stuff at it (and if you're a necromancer, throw corpses at it and reanimating them).

Being masterly with your weapon of choice, and the obligatory high skills in shield, dodge and armor user - these help.
I always go toe-to-to with deities. Web slingers tend to be impossible without sheer luck, so you could always take lots of followers, or be a necromancer.

Word of warning however: IF you go the necro route as I did today, be aware that if there are too many followers crowding a small enclosed space such as a room (or a lair in my case), fire breathers will get you because amidst all the smoke and fire you will probably get stuck/penned in and unable to move, at which point you will slowly melt. I found this out the hard way. Or should that be soft and crispy way?

I had struck down 3 deities single handed with that character before being roasted in my armor by a dragon, trapped by the zombie horde I though fitting for the character I was playing (I never played necro before today, never use any followers). Never again lol

Let it be known that these are not actually deities. If you look them up in legends you'll find that they are demons escaped from the underworld. They are the closest thing we have to corporeal deities though

Live long if you can, and prosper by any means necessary.  Any means, Urist.  So pull that lever, or by Armok, I'll lock you outside come next siege.
He who plays with dwarves must take care that he does not become a dwarf.  And when you stare into DwarfFort, Dwarffort stares back into you.

In my experience the main problem with fighting these demon law givers is the size of them. They are often absolutely massive.

This is important because they are wearing clothing. Normal clowns are naked and can be harmed readily by steel and candy weapons. The clothing worn by law givers is scaled up to fit their bodies, which are often in excess of 16 tons. This means a leather cloak or hat is inches thick, hence most strikes glance off it.

Wow. I believe Kesperan has just won adventurer mode.
